600 Building – white box conversion – RTP, nC

Client: Research Triangle Park Foundation

Contractor: Atlantic corporate contracting (ACC)

The Research Triangle Park Foundation needed to convert an old, tired former IBM, vacant buildings into new shell space to lease to growing startups. They turned to NEMA Management to help them effectively and efficiently achieve this effort.  NEMA worked as the owner’s representative to coordinate work between the RTP Foundation, building management company (Hines), leasing agent (Cushman & Wakefield) and the general contractor for the demolition of approximately 20,000 SF of vacant office space, Lobby, first and second floor corridor. Prior to construction, NEMA Management helped develop the scope and worked with the entire team and Durham County Inspections to develop the most cost efficient means to demo and prepare the space for maximum return and impact.

NEMA came into the picture during a very critical time here at the Foundation, but they were quick to get up to speed on all of the moving pieces. NEMA keeps projects on time, on budget and is always working towards providing cost saving alternatives. In addition to the outstanding work, the communications is always clear, which is especially beneficial for an organization growing its business model from traditional land sales to commercial real estate rental operations. We are very appreciative of NEMA’s dedication and construction project management expertise.
